SSRA ON A MISSION: BURANDT TAKES SILVER; ESTRELLA AND MCCLELLAN BRONZE
Burandt- Silver U16 Women Estrella-Bronze U16 Men
| March 30- SSRA U16 athlete, Elyse Burandt won the first run and took the silver in today's giant slalom race in 2:20.22 at the U16 Finals. Alex Oseland of Crystal Mountain won the race in 2:19.29. Berkeley Guenzel (SSRA) also made the front page witha time of 2:25.23, good for 15th place. Briley Thompson (SSRA) took 26th in 2:30.06 and Rianne Ellingwood 32nd in 2:33.16. Michael Estrella led the SSRA men with a bronze medal in the U16 age class and 5th place overall ranking in 2:14.86. The race was won by Canadian, Jeffrey Read of the Banff Alpine Racers in 2:11.73. Adrian Markewych was 22nd in 2:22.07 with Connor Peck stopping the clock at 2:24.22 for 29th place. Cole McClellan took bronze for the U14 men with a time of 2:24.26; a 30th place finish in the overall field. Will Gottsch was next in 35th, with a time of 2:27.08 while teammate Jared Farley was 44th in 2:31.08 (7th place for U14's). Scot Simpson and Hunter Scheidt rounded out the strong team showing with a 56th and 59th place finish (12th and 14th for U14's), with times of 2:38.44 and 2:39.45, respectively. |

ESTRELLA LEADS PNSA IN U16 FINALS SUPER GMarch 29- SSRA U16 athlete, Michael Estrella led the Pacific Northwest Ski Association in the U16 Finals Super G at Mission Ridge today. Estrella took bronze, narrowly edged out by two Canadian athletes from Banff, Alberta. Cole McClellan was the top SSRA U14 athelte in 33rd place (4th for U14's). Jared Farley was just behind in 37th (6th for U14 men). Elyse Burandt led the SSRA women with a 13th place.

Kyle Luiten, SSRA, 1:09.61 SSRA WINS EEYSL TEAM TITLE March 26- Spokane Ski Racing Association clinched the Emerald Empire Youth Ski League team title at the EEYSL Finals on March 23-24 at Bluewood. It is the 4th time in 6 years that SSRA has been bestowed the honor. SSRA led the team competition with 19,027 points ahead of Schweitzer (SARS) 14,345, 49 Degrees North (FAST) 5,013, Bluewood (BART) 2,510, Lookout (LPRT) 1,790, INDY 1,677, and Silver (SMART) with 742. Elizabeth Quesinberry was the U10 champion with Maya Peck close behind in second place. Isabell Simpson was 2nd for the U12's with Amy Farley taking 3rd. On the men's side, Chalie Schafer took the 2nd place title for the U8's. Jacob Shurtleff was the U12 champion with Reilley Anderson taking 2nd and Jake Mamola 3rd completing the sweep. The U14 also swept their podium led by champion Cole McClellan narrowly edging teammate and second place finisher Korbyn Edmondson. Hunter Scheidt completed the trio in third, for the season.
