The MSSRT U16-19 program is for 14-18 year old athletes who are already strong all mountain skiers and are committed to refining/improving their alpine ski racing skills. This program is designed for committed athletes who are preparing to compete in races throughout the Pacific Northwest. The program offers training 5 days per week (Wednesday evening, Thursday evening, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). These athletes will also have the opportunity to train with the FIS athletes during the day on Wednesday and Thursday.
ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
Athletes should be able to ski all terrain in all conditions with parallel turns.
EQUIPMENT
Each athlete needs at least one pair of Slalom, Giant Slalom and Super G race skis. Many athletes choose to purchase a pair of Downhill (DH) skis. Powder skis, twin tips, and all mountain skis do not provide the flex, sidecut, or dimensions to effectively develop/refine alpine race skills and tactics and should not be used at this level during training. FIS approved helmets, goggles, poles and shin guards are required. Back Protectors are required for GS and Super G, a chin bar or mouth guard is required for slalom and a mouth guard is highly recommended for GS. Coaches and staff are available to answer equipment questions.
LIFT TICKETS - Not included
SCHEDULE
