The program is designed for athletes who are preparing to compete in races throughout the Pacific Northwest, US, and Canada. The MSSRT FIS program is for 16 year old and older athletes who are committed to refining/improving their alpine ski racing skills. The program offers day training at home 5 days per week (Wednesday through Sunday). Athletes in this program also have the option to train in the evenings or travel for optimal training conditions if the snow conditions are not ideal in the inland northwest.

ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

Athletes should be able to ski all terrain in all conditions with parallel turns.

EQUIPMENT

Each athlete needs at least 2 pairs of FIS Slalom, 1 FIS Giant Slalom, and 1 FIS Super G ski. FIS approved helmets, goggles, poles and shin guards are required. Back Protectors are required for GS, Super G, and DH. A chin bar or mouth guard is required for slalom and a mouth guard is highly recommended for GS. Coaches and staff are available to answer equipment questions.

LIFT TICKETS

Not included.

SCHEDULE

The U16-19 home program begins December 12th and runs through MArch 31st. Weekly emails will be sent detailing plans.

RACING

The FIS racing schedules are customized to the individual athlete’s needs and goals. The head coaches will meet with the athletes and parents to develop their race schedule. Race entry fees, lodging, lift tickets and US Ski and Snowboard Membership are not included in program tuition.

CAMPS

Holiday Camp - Included in the tuition and includes an additional five days of training/ racing December 27-31

The Sun Peaks Camp in mid- November through early December is not included in tuition but is highly recommended.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

As a non-profit volunteer based organization, parent volunteering is essential to providing a quality program for our athletes. Parents are required to volunteer three days at a MSSRT hosted race or event.
