TEN SSRA ATHLETES QUALIFY FOR WESTERN REGION CHAMPIONSHIPS RACES

SSRA U14's qualify for new Western Region Championships event at Jackson Hole, WY
Maya Peck and Jack Dale were 2 of 7 athletes from the Emerald Empire Youth Ski League to qualify for the Western Region U14 Championships at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, March 10-13. Both athletes earned the opportunity to compete based on EEYSL results from the 49, Schweitzer and Mt. Spokane races. Caden Goranson narrowly missed the top 5 spots and is first alternate for the event. Maya and Jack will be heading to Jackson on Tuesday, March 8 to free ski on Wednesday March 9 before a Super G training day on the 10th. They will then compete on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in SG, GS and slalom. Maya and Jack will be competing with athletes from the five Western Region Divisions (PNSA, Alaska, Far West, Intermountain, and Northern). We wish them the best and know that they will make SSRA proud!
SSRA U16's qualify for Western Region Championships and Can-Ams
William Dexter, Reilley Anderson and Johannes Liaboe have qualified for the Western Region U16 Championships at Mammoth Mountain taking place March 16-20. This prestigious event brings athletes together from the five divisions of the Western Region. Each athlete qualified for the championships based on their results in the three U16 Qualifier series that have taken place in PNSA this season (January races at Mt. Spokane, and February races at Mt. Hood Skibowl and Mt. Bachelor). William, Reilley and Johannes were three of only 19 men to be selected to the event. We wish them the best of luck as they represent SSRA and PNSA in California.
Isabell Simpson and Ben Lewis qualified for the U16 Can-Am races at Panorama, BC taking place March 17-20. Once the U16 Championships selection was completed, a second selection process determined 7 PNSA men, and 7 PNSA women to compete in this event. This has been a very fun and competitive event in the past and we wish Isabell and Ben good luck as they head north of the border to compete!
 
SSRA FIS U19's racing at Western Region U19-U21 Championships
Cole McClellanScot Simpson and Jared Farley continue to compete at the Western Region FIS Championships in. Athletes from the five Western Region Divisions (PNSA, Alaska, Far West, Intermountain, and Northern) are racing in the event taking place at Schweitzer. Only 19 women and 23 men were invited to race from our PNSA division of Washington, Oregon, and North Idaho.
We wish all of our amazing athletes the best of luck as they travel to represent SSRA and PNSA in these unique competitive opportunities. GO FAST!

DYNAMIC LEADER SOUGHT FOR GROWING ALPINE SKI ORGANIZATION

The Spokane Ski Racing Association (SSRA) Board of Directors is seeking a dynamic, community leader to serve as Executive Director.

SSRA has a unique opportunity for a highly organized, motivated and experienced professional to take our organization to the next level and fulfill our club mission! Our tight community is looking for a full-time leader that is strategic, has experience managing and operating a ski organization both on and off the hill. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, cause-driven and committed to the athletes, parents and coach development, fundraising, and strengthening SSRA. Critical skills include the ability to be strategic, run day-to-day operations, plan and execute club development, coach coaches and athletes, and build lasting relationships with Spokane community. Successful candidates will have a strong background in alpine ski racing and coaching.
