SSRA OPENING WEEKEND

(Mt. Spokane)- Saturday and Sunday, December 7-8 marks the opening weekend of training at Mt. Spokane for all SSRA programs. On this first weekend, groups meet at 11:50 (instead of 8:50) and ski for half days to allow coaches to clinic and athletes to get organized and take some runs prior to meeting with groups.

Where: Groups meet above lodge 2
Be prepared for early season conditions. Bring rock skis (preferably not twin tips). Groups will focus on directred free skiing and free skiing drills (long/medium radius turns focus).

GUENZEL AWARDED FIS TD CREDENTIALS

(Denver)- Carl Guenzel was awarded FIS Technical Delegate credentials at the recent FIS TD update in Denver, Colorado. The Federation Internationale De Ski (International Ski Federation) is the international governing body of ski racing. The technical delegate, or TD, is the lead member of the race jury. FIS TD's officiate at the highest levels of the sport from regional FIS racing to World Cup and the Olympics. According to Rob Crick, "Becoming a FIS TD requires years of dedication and hours upon hours of hard work." It is a truly remarkable achievement and SSRA is honored that one of our own has sought this lofty goal and reached it. Congratulations, Carl!

SKI PATROL SKI SWAP THIS WEEKEND

(Spokane Fairgrounds)- The Mt. Spokane Ski Patrol will holds its 49th annual ski swap this weekend, October 25--27. The swap is open from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 9am-noon on Sunday. Admission is $5.00 and children 12 and under are free.
