This is
Chuck's 5th year running camps in the Banff area. He has been coaching
for 13 years and has experience with all age groups. Chuck began
coaching in the summertimes at Mt. Hood in 1990. He spent his first
winter (1993-94) of coaching in the Massachusetts Berkshires with
the Berkshire East Ski Team juniors, UMASS varsity ski team and
the Deerfield Prep ski team. Chuck worked for 4 seasons with SARS
(3 years YSL Head Coach/ 1 year Head Coach) before coming to SSRA.
He is now beginning his 6th season with SSRA as Program Director/
Head Coach. Presently Chuck works primarily with Junior and Jr.
Development athletes. Since involved with SSRA, Chuck has helped
4 athletes podium in Junior Olympic competition and many more reach
their true potentials as ski racers.
BILL
ZEHNER, SSRA FIS Junior Coach
Bill Zehner
begins his second year as an SSRA coach in 2004-2005. However, this
season he will be with the FIS Junior group. Bill has not only proven
himself as a racer, but he is a naturally talented coach who relates
high-level movement patterns to athletes in an understandable way;
whether it be through words, video analysis or demonstration.
Coach Zehner
has 13 years of racing experience in the Eastern and Western Regions.
He began racing at Bosquet in Pittsfield, Massachusetts before training/racing
with the National Sports Academy in Lake Placid, NY. Once Bill moved
west, he competed with Schweitzer Alpine Racing School before coming
to his senses. He completed his racing career competing with SSRA!!
His recent experience as a top FIS athlete in the Western Region
makes him a valuable asset since he is acutely aware of what it
takes to succeed in this realm. Ask Bill what it is like to stare
down the Snowbasin downhills....or what racing tech at Red Mountain
is like.
