ELIGIBILITY
(Eligibility does NOT qualify athletes for the team. If an athlete
is eligible, they are included in the qualification process)
1. SSRA Youth Ski League
and Junor Development athletes are eligible. Athletes in the Introduction
to Ski Racing Program can become eligible if they upgrade to the
YSL program by December 31, 2003.
2. J4 (ages 11-12) and
J5 (ages 9-10) athletes are eligible. Ages are determined as of
12/31/03. J6's are no longer eligible per a new PNSA rule passed
at the 2003 PNSA convention.
3. 70% attendance based
on the YSL weekend schedule and Christmas Camp.
QUALIFICATION
AUTOMATICS
Any eligible J4 or J5
athlete who wins an EEYSL qualifier(overall), becomes an automatic
to the Buddy Werner Championships
WORLD CUP POINT SYSTEM
1. The EEYSL has eliminated
the short course. Therefore, all athletes will compete on one course.
J4's and J5's will be ranked by finish placing to the 30th place
and awarded World Cup points for EACH RUN of each 2-run race.
2. The best three single-run
results in giant slalom and the best single-run result in slalom
will be counted.

4. A list will be created
ranking all SSRA athletes by total World Cup Points. The top 8 girls
and top 8 boys will be selected to the SSRA team to represent the
club at the 2004 Buddy Werner Championships.
5. Time Trials will be
used to help tie-break and to seed the team for the BWC races.
